Great looking pergola with easy to follow instructions. Took two adults about 7 hours to build with breaks in between. We also used the recommended expansion bolts to secure it to our cement patio. The wood is very soft so it does dent and scratch easily while we were building it but it doesnt look bad at all. We are very happy with our Backyard Discovery Beaumont 14x12 pergola! The only negative would be the time it took to arrive, which was about six weeks. Otherwise, it is very well made and looks beautiful. You need at least three people to put together. We recently purchased this pergola and overall we’re very happy with how it turned out. Once assembled, it looks beautiful and adds a nice focal point to our landscape bed. The design is attractive, and the size was perfect for creating a garden feature without overwhelming the space. Assembly was straightforward, and all of the parts were labeled well. The wood accepted stain nicely, which allowed us to customize the color to better match our porch and decking. (The lighter wood shown in some photos is the original factory color before staining.) The only reason I’m giving 4 instead of 5 stars is that several pieces arrived damaged from shipping. A few boards had broken ends and cracked sections around the pre-drilled holes. Fortunately, the damaged pieces were not structural components, and we were able to repair them with wood glue and still complete the build without needing replacement parts. Despite the shipping damage, the finished pergola feels sturdy, looks great, and was a good value for the price. If the manufacturer improved packaging and shipping protection, this would easily be a 5-star product. Overall, we’re pleased with the final result and look forward to training climbing plants over it for years to come. The Bolt Down bracket system enables pergola owners to mount their pergola safely and securely to a wood deck or cement patio. Simply measure your footprint and bolt the galvanized steel brackets into place. Insert 4 x 4 (10cm x 10cm) pressure-treated wood posts (purchased separately) into the brackets and screw them in place. Slide your pergola posts over the wood posts, and screw the pergola posts into the wood. The result is a lasting installation that is safe and rigid. This mounting system was specifically designed for Vita brand pergolas. We highly recommend that if you are installing any of these vinyl Pergolas on a flat surface, you purchase this kit. The mounting system comes with brackets and 1.5” (3.8cm) self-tapping screws. The bolt-down brackets are guaranteed for 5 years against defects. This is a fabulous addition for a cover on our side porch. It was a challenge to put it together, but We completed the task in a day with just 2 people. I really like this pergola. Our other pergola(metal with fabric top) collected water and collapsed. My husband told me he did not want another one that could collect water or blow over. This new pergola is super sturdy and took my husband and our friend a couple of hours to put together! I ordered a turquoise sun sail to go on it also from wayfair. It it more porous and it doesnt hold water. The pergola itself has a nice gray color and looks nice. Again it is heavysturdy. Im pretty sure itll take an actual tornado or a hurricane to move it!
