Even though I had the measurements - sometimes it is hard to visual what the size will be - it is not as deep (front to back) as I was hoping - the length and height are great. The legs were easy to put on (although the diagram was incorrect on the order of the locking washer and regular washer). This bench is made of very sturdy wood and looks great. I do agree with other reviewers who have mentioned that the hinges are cheaply made in comparison to the rest of the bench. The lid is very heavy so it will be interesting to see how long the hinges will hold up. I had previously ordered the same bench from another vendor and it showed up completely busted, but this time there was only minor internal damage. I think the problem lies in the fact that it is shipped pre-assembled, which is convenient, but if not handled properly in transit it leads to damage. Overall I am pleased with my purchase..
