I thought the swing was 5-star, but the ‘A’ frame was a disappointment. Specifically, because the corner braces were not cut in such a way that they fit smoothly into place. Instead there were gaps and all 6 braces were either too short or too long and had to be trimmed. I would have expected this type of an issue if the swing came from a foreign market, but not when made in the USA. We had purchased the same porch swing stand 10 years ago and it held up really well in our harsh Florida weather (we had stained it for weather proofing, so that was a big factor for it doing so well). It was time to purchase a new one because the old one was starting to rot in certain places. I did not hesitate to repurchase the same stand. This time I wanted to stain it white to match our swing. The instructions could use a little more detail to help with the assembly, but we figured it out. To assemble the stand, you need a drill, a mallet, and a socket wrench or wrench. The manufacturer provides you with a Robertson drill bit for the 3” screws. We needed 3 people to start the first installation step. 2 people were needed to assemble the rest of it. It did need some sanding, and we will put a finish on it to make sure that it stays nice.
