Lol We bought four of these and it did take a great deal of time as you need one person to help hold pieces while it’s put together. Also need needle nose pliers to help put the nut on as the holes to join the pieces together are fairly deep and not easy to get to some of them as you put it together. A beautiful, very comfortable chair. Amazingly sturdy and thoughtfully well made. Easily assembled and ended up looking craftsman-made (only 6 assembly bolts covered with wood buttons). Very comfortable! One of my newest favorite additions to my deck. However it does not sit nearly as upright as the pictures suggest and it’s pretty easy to tip over. It sits more like a bowl, so if you don’t care about that it’s great! Use the Allen key that looks like a wine bottle opener! These chairs are beautiful, sturdy and very comfortable, but they take a few hours to put together. The first chair took me forever to assemble, but I used it as a learning experience. I learned that I could have saved myself a ton of time if I had used the provided allen key with the red top (looks like a wine bottle opener), instead of the conventional one that was also provided. I also learned that I needed help from someone else for a few stages in the process because it saves a lot of time. Things went a lot smoother and faster when I put together the second chair.
