They are metal, which is definitely an upgrade from the fabric underbed storage systems that I am currently using, as these will definitely keep their shape. A little bonus is the locking wheels, which will come in handy if you want them to stay in place under the bed. My only con to these is that I expected them to be a bit deeper. In the posted picture you can see that one small, children’s hoodie goes right to the top. I was hoping to fit more pieces.
