This is likely not what many people are using this skate for, but were doing it to help socialize our wonderful new dog with my two cats, one of them is not very dog savvy. When we tried to do this with a normal baby gate, she kept trying to launch herself over it so of course, he wanted to chase her. This was the most affordable option that I could find for something floor to ceiling that would allow them to become more familiar without the potential danger that an unexpected interaction could have caused. Product quality is very good. Assembly instructions were confusing. Took about 2hrs to put together correctly. After sorting out steps it should have taken no more than 45 mins. Unfortunately, after a couple of days "Sami" became indifferent to it. Wasn't worth giving up a living room window for limited use. He doesn't mind the sill of a screened open window. Decided to return it which turned into a bit of a hassle. It had to be sent back using original packaging or equivalent. I took photos of each unpackaging step. Without them, repacking it would have been next to impossible. Wayfair did offer a partial credit if I wanted to keep the item and skip the return process. The ~$35 credit against the $169.99 cost was not acceptable to me so, I managed to repackage it and send it back. Had to pay FEDEX return shipping charge of $33. I’ve been looking for one with kind of measurements and with some adjustments to the structure (for our needs and wants) this has been great. The instructions were pictures which I thought were a challenge, and a few pieces were cracked.. I used glue and packing tape for repair. But not with removing a star. I skipped the braces ( first steps so I could put it together in the house ) when my husband and I could assemble this outdoors I did end up replacing some of the upper parts with the same wire as the bottom. I purchased at tractor supply then replaced the two doors with just wire ( a good stapler is needed.) The big door at the bottom I added an extra lock so it gives me the access needed for “just in case” my cats would run in if I shake the treat jar. I got two pieces of strapping for the top to support the top by the roof and one for the center just for additional support. I am able to use power tools but I didn’t want to come up with the big design so honestly this is great!
