William Morris Sofa Cover

This design is inspired by the woodpecker tapestry, 1885, by William morris (1834-1896). William Morris was an important British textile designer, artist, and writer who dominated the creative design force we know as the arts & crafts movement. Morris described tapestry weaving as the noblest of the weaving arts. The woodpecker tapestry is unusual in that it was one of very few designed by William Morris. In tradition, we have adapted this striking design for our woven home decor products, with today's homes in mind. The level of color, depth, and detail in the weaving is extraordinary!

This brought a traditional element to a room that was moving too white, stark, and modern, but I would not really call it reversible. To us at least, it definitely looks like the back side. We are happy with the one side.. Lorien. Wed Aug 19 2026

A sumptuous design that is instantly recognizable as the work of William Morris designs; it reproduces an original tapestry piece of his created in the 19th century called Strawberry Thief also known as William Morris Birds. It depicts a story of why the juicy ripened strawberries are always disappearing in the garden. The witty eyes of birds tell all. This throw will be coordinated with any modern décor and can be draped over a chair folded at the end of a bed or used as a rug.

This is a tapestry rather than a blanket. It works perfectly for what I needed it for.. Kate. Round Rock, TX. Tue May 23 2023

My granddaughter asks that everything be purple, so I got this for her. From looking at the picture, I thought that it would be stiff, and the gold-colored section might be scratchy. But I was wrong. The pillow is velvety smooth and feels the same all over. If you're into geology, you will understand why it is called “geode". (That makes for a great teaching tool for granddaughters, by the way.) There is an invisible zipper, which is always appreciated, so that the pillow cover can be removed and washed. I did launder mine before reviewing, and it washed beautifully without wrinkles or fading. It does not include the insert, but Wayfair usually has many of those on sale.. Janice. Durant, OK.
