I really like my new Farmhouse Faux Wood Floor Lamp with Rattan Shade. The actual lampstand itself is metal that has a painted wood look. If you are expecting an actual wood stand it is not. It is painted so nicely it really looks like wood. I am fine with it. It is very easy to assemble. all of the pieces are already connected with the electrical cord running through it. All you have to do is screw the first piece to the base, then continue up with all of the connecting pieces until you reach the top. You then pull the cord down through it all, so it is longer for reaching your plug-in. You screw the piece where your bulb screws in, last. Then, you put the lamp shade on and screw down the ring to keep it in place. All you do next is put in a bulb. Pretty easy! I love that it has a pull chain so I don’t have to stand up to turn it on with a switch at the top. I can just reach up while sitting on my recliner. The lamp shade is made of brown rattan with scalloped edges at the bottom. Super cute. You can have up to a 100-watt bulb so it can be bright or a cozy lighting depending on the effect you want. It has a E26 base (which is a standard bulb size) and does not come with a bulb. It is so unique it would fit a farmhouse, boho, or classical style room. The shade is: 9.6'' H X 14'' W. This lamp is super cute. It gets four stars though because the cord doesn’t lay flat there’s not really a spot for the bottom like a k itch or something so it heaters just a little bit. Very nice looking lamp with good craftsmanship. Two things 1. The description of the bulb requirements is inaccurate. The lamp actually requires a type B bulb, with a 25 watt maximum… not a standard 60w bulb. 2. Also note that the only switch is on the cord, there is not the traditional switchknob on the base to turn it on off… a bit inconvenient since I prefer the cord to be as hidden as possible, but otherwise a beautiful addition to my apartment!.
