Not sure whether the lot of my chairs were not good or all of the units are like this. The chairs are not so cheap (compared with competition prices) so it could have some more sturdiness and strong acacia wood. I also paid for Wayfair to have someone from Angi come to put it together. The box the chaise comes in is 50 + pounds so having someone arrive to move the heavy box, take the pieces out, knowledgeably put the chaise together, and install it on the porch, was worth its weight in gold!.
