I ordered two of these and placed them sideways so that I could have a 16 wide and 24 feet long covered area. It definitely took four people about four hours to put up the first one but second one went a lot smoother after figuring out all the louvers. I’ve had it up for about a month so far with some pretty strong winds and so far so good. We did have a decent rain and it kept everything dry when I closed the louvers but then we had a torrential rain and it was just way too much for the small areas to hold so it definitely leaked in a few spots. LOVE THIS PERGOLA - We needed something that kept the sun off our outdoor kitchen in central Florida. We lifted it by about 18 inches so it would be above our door by using flower boxes and filled with concrete. It actually makes the pergola more comfortable by raising it. The gutters work well in the heavy down pours known in Florida. The higher wind tolerance was a huge selling point for us. We couldnt be happier. One year ago I bought a cheaper pergola from another company; it had the nylon roof you pull back with a cord, no side screens available. The roof was flimsy and noisy whenever there was a breeze, and if you forgot to close it tight before a rain, the weight of the water was going to tear it . The Gazebo arrived in almost perfect condition. There was some minor dents on the edge of the roof pieces but once put together they were completely hidden. The quality was very nice. Plenty of supples were provided . My husband and I put it together over 3 days. Each piece of the roof is protected with a coating that needs to be removed. This alone took quite a bit of time but the metal was protected. I would recommend a couple of extra people to assist to make the construction so much easier! Based on reviews and cost was the reason we went with this gazebo. It fits our space and the fact it has a metal roof was a great selling point. Our previous canopy had a canvas top which needed replaced every year. I did most of the install myself. I had very little help which was even necessary. It took me four days, so I went slow and steady. The picture only instructions were really pretty good. All the parts were there and all the holes lined up. Which brings me to building of the gazebo. I left all major screws and bolts that attached the horizontal rails to the legs loose. One of the issues mentioned in reviews was being able to make this thing “square.” I’m handy, but square can be tough at times. By leaving screws and bolts loose, it allowed me to make the necessary adjustments when installing the roof panels. Once all the roof panels were installed, I tightened up all the screws and bolts. The product is excellent overall, though I'd be remiss to not include a few constructive criticisms: 1) The listing is misleading and does not make clear that the roller shades are NOT included and must be purchased separately. The cost of which essentially doubles the overall cost. 2) The installation instructions do not emphasize the importance of making sure the structural frame is installed straight, level, plumb, and that the distances between the vertical members is exact from top to bottom.
