These shelves are sturdy and look great! The only reason I gave them 4 stars and not 5 (and I would give them 4.5 if this were an option) is the difficulty in mounting them. I am no stranger to a drill, which is absolutely necessary for mounting, but because the holes for the molly bolts are large and fairly close together, I ended up with one big hole in my drywall as the two holes collapsed into one when I started putting in the molly bolts. As a result, I had to adjust the location in order to cover it up the hole. Also, they are made for drywall, so if your placement is on a wood beam, you are kind of screwed (no pun intended ;-] ) unless you plan ahead and use a different kind of screw, which is not included. We do not add to or take away from any of the natural distressing that has occurred from decades of use. You will see nail holes, screw holes, nails, discoloration, scratches, dents, and many other variations. Each of these markings is a glimpse into the history of your shelves. You may see holes from a mortise and tenon joint or other time-honored wood joining techniques. You may notice where a hinge or hook is used to hang. Arrived quickly and have not installed yet. But will give 5 stars for the quick delivery. Update! Shelves are a very bold white and was afraid the white was going to stand out and be an eyesore. After decorating, it became a good contrast and blended in nicely. Wish they included cap covers to cover the screw holes in the shelf but adding the decor it covers it so it’s no problem. Depending how you’re going to use it, your decor will have to be extra thin because it’s not wide enough to place a small vase, unless it’s under 2” in base size.. Ljib. Indian Wells, CA.
