This light fixture will work well for the rental property it is installed in, but we would not use it in our own home with higher quality furnishings. It is fine, and works well, but the cost-effective quality is evident, and you'd not be able to clean it if it were marked or collected dust (air grease, if too close to a range hood, etc.) We are torn as to whether to even bother to use the second shade piece as it looks pretty good with just the large one. It can be used either way, though. So, we do recommend it, but be sure it is suitable for the home it will be used in. It did arrive extremely well packaged and safe from damage (even from careless transportation/delivery.) We included the empty box to illustrate how well the corners were packaged to protect the fragile outer/larger shade. Also, for those who are concerned with such things, it was also packaged to minimize the space/packaging materials, etc. so not unnecessary trash after unpacking. I really like the look of the light fixture. It came with a few different rods so you can hang it to the length that works for you. Installation wasn't too bad. However it comes with a diffuser shade that does not fit. See pictures. It is way too small, doesn't rest on the tabs meant to hold it up, and therefore wobbles and is uneven and looks awful. Even if it had been big enough I hate the look of it, prefer frosted acrylic for a diffuser shade. I returned the first purchase and bought a second, and it also had the incorrect diffuser shade, so definitely an issue with the factory and not a one-off.
