Bright light with a compact design. The base is a nice warm gold tone. For me it’s limiting because the only way to turn it on is via the button on the wire at the base but where I have to plug it in the button is under other furniture. A simple high/low rotary switch is located on the shade cup to adjust the brightness. This lamp has a black cord and is smart outlet compatible. Bulbs are not included. Note: use incandescent bulbs up to 150w or dimmable led bulbs (do not use: 3-way bulbs or CFLs. We recommend using incandescent bulbs for best results achieving both settings of 50% brightness and 100% brightness with no flicker. When using led bulbs, it is common to see some flicker on the low setting (the high setting will always have no flicker). A dimmable led will minimize the low-setting flicker, but may still occur.
