I needed a light fixture to look like it was supposed to hover over the side of the mirror (problems with the electrical box placement). This really fit the bill (pun unintended) - a conventional light in the middle of the wall would have looked ridiculous. How it perches in its twin sockets is novel to me - you just place it on its mounting.
