These lanterns are beautiful! I got the bronze. They are well made with attention to detail. The instructions state to charge them for 6 hours. I received them at 3:45 pm. My apartment faces east, and the sun was already over my apartment building, no longer on my balcony or coming in any windows. I set them on the balcony receiving only daylight. At dark, they lit right up full power. So, either they were already charged, or the daylight was adequate for charging. I get only about 3 hours of sun on my balcony due to trees and the building east of mine being higher on a ridge and blocking sun at times , so they have never been charged for 6 hours straight. Lamps are attractive with the faux wicker lampshades, they match outdoor furniture, though they're indoor/outdoor, I don't love the on /off pull tab bc it feels flimsy ,and may not last too long especially if left outside. i have 4 other touch operated from another manufacturer, and I prefer that instead of the pull tab..
