I love these tiles!! My mantel had an empty gap that always bothered me. They are easy to work with and cut, I used an angle grinder and it worked great. I did score the tiles with a glass cutter and I also taped the tiles where I needed to grind to. These were easy to break apart, but if you do it with a knife, then when you score it and break it, they don’t always break in a completely straight line, which meant at the seams I did have to do a little bit of caulking with gray caulk to make it look a little bit better. The product can also be installed directly over existing panels or smooth surfaces. The tiles are fire-retardant but can be deformed by excessive heat (176℉degrees Fahrenheit). The tiles can be installed above or behind most stoves. Keep direct heat sources - toaster ovens, cooking burners, etc., at least 12 inches from the backsplash panel's surface.
