We spray painted metal towers and covered shelves with white wood grain contact paper to lighten up this dark set. Quite easy to put together with two people with half stands propped on ottoman. Did put together top and bottom with holes facing wrong way and had to remove and flip one bottom tower so that joining screws found holes. Very wobbly and definitely anchored to wall on either side. This bookcase is perfect for my space. It's not too big or too small. It was relatively easy to assemble and you can do it with one person, but two people are better.
