I really was unsure of this when I ordered it. I hoped it would work but holding the weight of a slightly heavy laptop and doing so in a stable manner for long periods of time is potentially a big task. I was concerned about the bouncy potential and didn't want to have that be a problem. It works GREAT! Yes, there was a bouncy movement to it when you didn't touch anything but the keys, but I founnd the most comfortable position for me was with my elbows resting on chair arms and my pisiforms (outer palms near the wrist) just touching the keyboard on either side of the touchpad. When I lightly rested my hands there I could type without any appreciable bounce and what tiny bit I got actually aided typing quickly. The middle knuckle is adjustable for the weight of just about any laptop. I have an HP 17" and it doesn't seem to even know it's there as far as weight goes. I live on a boat and I have the arm mounted on a small table next to me next to my lazyboy recliner. No I don't think it would work very well long term with the chair in a reclined position but for a short time it would be much better than a computer on your belly or chest. When I put it together and tested it the first time the cords were an issue. Once I ran the cords through the cord holder I never even thought about them again. I liked it so much I got one for my wife and she loves it. To get up we just push it out awaqy from us and can get up with no interference from the computer. Once you get the position just right it stays at that angle perfectly and other than swinging it out and back I find I do no other adjustments. It took me a couple days of fooling with minor adjustments until I got it just right. When the boat rocks it doesn't move either, unless I want it to. I don't know how they can make this for the price they sell it for.. Anonymous. Mon Dec 22 2025

Constructed with heavy-duty steel and aluminum, this wall mount is also powder-coated to enhance its aesthetic appeal. Sit in your most relaxed position while you write blog articles, edit photos and videos, or analyze your company's financial reports.

It took a lot of tightening to get the arm to not slowly go down from the weight of the monitors, but it finally got there and I'm really happy with this product! I wish the monitors were able to flex in and out instead of just up and down, but the number of pivot points in this whole contraption is sufficient. The mount said it's for cement block mounting, but I mounted it into a studded wall and it's working great. I just had to use my own heavy duty screws.. Anonymous. California. Tue Apr 20 2021

A $25 full motion wall mount works on day one. Three months later the friction joints have loosened — the arm drifts or goes stiff. The F410 is built for the buyer who doesn't want to solve that problem twice. What's the difference between the F410 and a standard full motion wall mount? Standard full motion wall mounts use friction joints. Friction joints work at first, but loosen with repeated adjustments — the arm drifts, sags, or becomes stiff and hard to move. The F410 uses ELG's 5th-generation gas piston: a sealed mechanism that provides calibrated resistance regardless of how often you reposition it. The hold is consistent on day one and year two. Ergotron uses the same gas spring mechanism in their $130–160 professional monitor arms. The F410 brings it to budget pricing. Will the F410 fit my 34" or 35" ultrawide monitor? Yes. The F410 is rated for screens up to 35" and 19.8 lbs. Most competing wall mount arms at this price cap at 32". If you have a 27" 4K display, a 32" curved monitor, or a 34–35" ultrawide, the F410 covers it. Compatible with VESA 75x75mm and 100x100mm mounting patterns, which covers the vast majority of monitors in production. How far does the arm extend from the wall? The arm extends up to 15 inches (380mm) from the wall bracket and retracts to approximately 3.5 inches (90mm) when not in use. This 15-inch extension is notably longer than comparable mounts at this price, which typically reach 8.75–11.5 inches. Longer reach is useful for corner-mounted setups or when the monitor needs to clear a surface below. What movement options does the F410 have? The arm tilts -45° to +90° (face down to nearly straight up), rotates 360° to switch between landscape and portrait orientation, and swivels up to 90° left or right from center for wide horizontal positioning. All adjustments are tool-free and hold via the gas piston without re-tightening. How is the F410 installed? Three steps: mount the wall bracket to a stud or solid wall, attach the arm assembly to the bracket, and connect your monitor via VESA screws. No power tools required — hardware is included. The arm ships pre-assembled. For installation planning: the monitor center sits approximately 9.8 inches (250mm) above the bottom of the wall bracket. Integrated cable management routes display and power cables through the arm. Does the F410 work with curved monitors? Yes. The VESA interface attaches to the monitor's mounting holes — flat or curved chassis doesn't affect compatibility. The 15" extension and full tilt range allow proper positioning for curved displays. Built by ELG, specializing in AV and ergonomic mounting solutions since 2002. The F410 carries NR17 ergonomic certification. Products available in 30+ countries.
