Sooo, I was so excited about this piece and it totally delivered. I remembered reading in the reviews how the predrilled holes weren’t lining up for some for the shelf. I ignored and then same thing happened to me. I had to improvise to cover the gap seen in the first pic. It worked out and I’m very happy with it still! Afterwards, I realized that I had switched the panels from how they’re supposed to be. Just pay attention because it matters which panel you put on either side. If they panels aren’t butting up next to each other like they should be when screwing in the shelf (first step), then switch them! This coatrack is good for heavy items like my full tote bag, and came with a command strip hanging kit that will not leave any damage. Do be sure to wipe the wall down cleanly with rubbing alcohol or cleaner before firmly pressing and holding the command strip administration in place for a minimum of 30 seconds for best security. The painted wood is smooth and will not scuff more delicate fabric coats and the like. It is very well suited for an entryway hook for your heavy coats or bags. It has 10 hooks which is more than I thought when purchasing, so that was a nice plus! It is pictured hanging centered under a painting that is 41 inches wide.
