The depth of the basin is more than 8 inches, and the large reservoir is not easy to splash when in use. Love this mounted floating vanity! I only gave it a four star because my husband had some challenges getting it put together. He said there were holes in a panel, but none on the vanity. We were concerned with destroying this new item. Once installed one other issue was a minor crack in the flexible J bend which caused minor drips. The Liljan vanity is beautiful but I had a lot of trouble with it. I am wondering if it was someone's returned article.....first the drawer pull had an entire section where the finish had come off and the stainless steel below was exposed. The vendor sent over a new handle so at least that was good. The once the vanity was installed, I discovered that the bottom drawer was misaligned and jutting out. Since the drawer rails were preinstalled my contractor could not adjust these. Hopefully someone will come and fix the vanity drawer and it will get done, otherwise will be a big problem for me as to now uninstall it, send it back and purchase a new vanity will be very expensive and painful.. This is a very nice vanity. It looks really good and I like how spacious the bathroom looks. I wish the drawers had a bit more space to fit taller baskets but it’s not that bad. The first drawer has a smaller depth that the lower one and things bump with sink curves so you have to arrange things pretty strategically. One thing that had to be done was to cut the back of the second drawer a bit so the curb of the plumbing could fit. Also, I have to mention that I did have to reorder the product as the first one came with the ceramic top broken. But, submitting the request for a new one went through without any problems although, I did have to return the first one but I was able to schedule a pick up of the product and second one arrived days later, intact. This is a pretty nice medical cabinet. The door hinges are good and the wall hanging setup, with the bar that attached to the wall, made it pretty easy to mount. It did come flat packed but wasn't hard to put together. Keep in mind that it's a bit deeper than a most medicine cabinets and might go better over a toilet (where I put mine) instead of over the bathroom vanity itself-also the mirror is on the small side.
