I was a bit leary of the plastic tubing that took the place of our previous natural wicker seat we were replacing, but this has more give to it and I think will be easier to keep clean. I’m not docking the rating for this, but I think that the powder coated legs on the matching table may be prone to rust on the edges, but time will tell on that. I really like this sofa. I got royal blue and it really looks great on my deck. It was packaged great and only took about 30 minutes for 2 people to assemble (the only reason you need 2 people is so one can hold pieces while the other screws them in). All the holes lined up and the parts were perfect. I really wanted a high-backed sofa so I could have my neck supported and doze more easily - and they perfectly fits the bill. I only have 2 minor issues. As another reviewer said, the fabric is scratchy. Now, it's waterproof so It's not going to be super soft but I didn't like the way it felt on my bare arms. It's also hot, which I attribute to the waterproof nature negatively affecting breathability. But, it holds the heat of the day for quite a while after the sun has set. I found the cushions to be thick, firm, and very nice otherwise. But I could slightly feel a vertical bar behind my end/back cushion and it bothers me every now and then. I am a large person but not heavier than the weight capacity of the sofa (by far) so I don't know if my discomfort had to do with my size. I did not purchase the Carolina ottomans - the ones you see in the photos are by the same company but are called Gaetanino Wicker Outdoor Ottoman - I love them. I recommend this sofa!. Lisa. We purchased two of the couches along with a rocker set and side table. They are fairly comfortable to sit and lay on. This set did have thinner cushions compared to other sets on the website, but they did say they are high density foam which seems to make a difference. I took off a star for the ease of assembly. The assembly was a bit of a pain. Do yourself and your sanity a favor and use a wratcheting screw driver (the correct allen bit was included with ours). This will save you time and frustration. The instructions were also a bit unclear and the QR code on the manual that was supposed to show an assembly video did not match up with the couch that was sold.
