I ordered these chair mats recently and was a little surprised that they felt pretty cold when they arrived. If you’re ordering during the winter, I’d recommend letting them sit at room temperature for a while before unrolling them. Once they warmed up and I followed the instructions, they flattened out without any issues. So far they’ve been working really well. My chair glides smoothly on the carpet now, which is a big improvement from before. They also look nice and are easy to wipe clean, so maintenance has been simple. Purchased for a busy household where we needed a rug that was very low profile due to mobility issues. We are very pleased with the quality of this mat and the edges will lay flat but the corners required double sided carpet tape at least for the first few weeks. I’m not sure how long the corners would have taken to lie flat had we not used the tape but I imagine not too long especially if you placed a flat heavy object on top of each corner for a few days..
