First off, this gate does come with the hardware needed to attach it to posts or whatever you need. The description wasn't very clear on that, but calling Wayfair Support before purchasing assured me that was the case. Second, we haven't installed it yet because our contractor is building our fence and this will be the last step. Third... and I probably should have started with this, the assembly instructions leave A LOT to be desired. It took me and my husband nearly two hours to put together. The instructions did not say how many of each part we were supposed to have so out of the gate (no pun intended), and just had to start and assume we had everything we needed. Fortunately all parts were there. But there was no way to know that when we started. Then the instructions we're not very clear AT ALL and we have a couple of failed attempt where it became clear we did something wrong and had to pull things off and start again. We're both fairly handy and have assembled plenty of things in the past, so it wasn't operator error. Things didn't fit together easily either and you definitely need a rubber mallet to pound some things into place. It would have been way easier to assemble if they instructions had been more accurate and clear. Fortunately we didn't put the glue on it as it said to do at the beginning, otherwise we would have been really angry having to wipe it off and start again. Lastly, it does look good so far. Photos are leaning up against our garage door. We got the 5 foot wide version. Hopefully our contractor will have an easier time assembling and attaching the gate mechanisms and hinges/latches.. Is your dog going through your wrought iron, aluminum, or wood fence? We have a simple solution without using an unsightly barrier or unnecessary shock collars. These types of fences were not designed with smaller dogs in mind. With the Dog Proofer fence barrier kit, you can quickly and easily create a long-lasting barrier around your fence. Made of black powder-coated galvanized heavy gauge wire the barrier tends to work well for smaller dogs with limited jumping ability. The welded wire squares are 1.75" x 1.75" so your dog cannot get through it, but so that you and your pet can easily see through it. The welded wire can also be trimmed to accommodate certain heights or to work around obstructions in the fence line. This quick fix for your dog getting through your fence is installed easily with only a pair of heavy-duty snips aviation snips/tin snips and fasteners appropriate for your fence type see more about that below.

Ok- I so excited that there was NO disgusting plastic chemical smell when we opened the box-we have this product pegged for a project in the backyard that is not yet complete, so we will have better pics later, but, out of the box, I love the quality compared to other items I’ve bought like this- and it comes with some extra leaves- nice gesture… lots hanging holes and we will see about UV resistance- TBD- additionally I like the deep green color and it does give that dull sheen that ivy has…. I got this screening for privacy from human neighbors and animal neighbors. My dogs are easily riled up by people that cut through the yaranimals that pass through , as well. This gives me a better sense of privacy, while also blocking things from my dogs some, too. Its a fabric of types, so its understandable that it has some give and stretch. I am still just trying to figure out how to work with that, which is difficult and Im hoping will be better with some time upright. I got mine for taller fences than mine, because I also have animals trying to come under the fence, and I thought staking it down to the ground at the bottom might help with that. Time will tell on that front. It definitely blocks out most things, so thats a real plus and will be sure to benefit us.. Mandy. Illinois. Sat May 30 2026
