You would expect a Chinese knock off of a carved Indian sofa to "off gas". Nope. Not a single smell. This is the most expensive couch that I ever owned, and worth ever penny. It will last for decades. Hope the kids like it because I suspect we'll still have it in 30 years. The only downside is the stink eye from the boss (wife) because it is a tad firm. The assembly went well. The color is a darker gray, although it did say taupe. We’re keeping it for the fact that it’s still matches in our room. This chair replaced a loveseat that we didn’t need anymore. It accommodate a taller person with longer legs due to the dimensions of the cushion from knee to hip. it is a little lower to the ground than I anticipated, but it is doable.
