The first lampshade that came in was unfortunately broken— It wasnt packaged very well, so I wasnt entirely surprised — but I sent in a report and they immediately sent out a replacement which was in one piece! It is a bit wobbly when placed on a thick carpet, so if you plan to have it sitting out in the open, rhats something to be aware of. I have it behind my couch and it has been safe there. Mission Handcrafted tiffany stained glass ceiling light lampshade is slight heavy than you expected, as it is made of really 100% stained glass. But when you knock it, it sounds like plastic. That's why? Because of its special manufacturing process. Each glass piece is cut by hand, then polish the edge before wrapping the copper foil. The edges of the glass pieces are wrapped with adhesive copper tape (copper foil). Then putted together in a mould according to the pattern. At last, using soldering material to weld each glass at a very high temperature. The Stained glass is Much Heavy than Plastic, and couldn't been burned, normal knife couldn't cut them. Easy to Check it.

I bought 2 of these and they are absolutely gorgeous! When you turn it on, the bottom will always be lit and I don't see a way you can replace the bulb if it ever goes out.
