As she keeps a watchful eye, a beautiful mademoiselle is pulled into a stolen kiss by her young lover. Painting in the Rococo style then fashionable in France, Fragonard's work reflects the period's frivolity, played out in fluid lines, lush, light-imbued fabrics and gracefully posed figures. Fragonard's delicate color and spontaneous brushwork are evident in this joyful piece. The authentic stretched canvas replica painting captures the original work's texture, depth of color, and even its subtle brushstrokes, which are applied by hand. With bas-relief organic styling, the multi-tiered, replica European style 3.25" wide frame is cast in quality designer resin and highlighted with an aged gold-toned finish. Proudly printed and framed in the USA using imported molding.

I was blown away by the quality of the canvas upon opening up the box. It’s a great addition to my several other period paintings.. Zaca. Wed Sep 23 2026

The Roman emperor Heliogabalus attempts to smother his unsuspecting guests with rose petals released from a false ceiling in this work based on a most-likely invented tale in the Augustan history. The authentic stretched canvas replica painting captures the original work's texture, depth of color, and even its subtle brushstrokes, which are applied by hand. The replica 4.375" wide, European style, bright gold-toned, ribbed frame is cast in quality designer resin with an acanthus leaf and floret border that draws the eye toward the beautiful image. Beautiful loveseat. Fabric, real wood carvings overall design is so striking and beautiful. The carvings do have some relief to them they are not flat so the protrude a bit into the seating comfort, but comfortable for two people and if you sit back and slide to the arm a bit to avoid the carving you can be comfy. In few other paintings is the element of desire felt as strongly as in "La Belle Dame Sans Merci," in which the beautiful young enchantress invites the embrace of a heroic Medieval knight in shining armor. Pre-Raphaelite in style, British Victorian artist, Dicksee, translates the ballad of poet, John Keats into a visual exhibition of textural fluidity and rich Gothic color.

Wow. Just wow. I've been jonesing for this painting for years, and when it finally went on sale for members, I finally ordered it. However, the shipment/delivery was so rough I feared the frame would be damaged (see photo). In fact, I began the reporting process for a damaged product while I waited for my husband to get home and help me lift the large box. I needn't have worried, for the painting had been packed with rough handling in mind. There was a thick foam bolster all the way around the beautiful carved frame, and no damage! Kudos to the vendor. Sending this huge painting back would have been a nightmare. Here's a photo of our mantel with the painting, which was very difficult to mount: it took two men two hours to get it almost right. The photo does NOT show the colors in their brilliance; I blame my phone camera and poor lighting. I printed out Keat's poem and keep it handy to share with the painting's admirers. It hangs near The Meeting on the Turret Stairs, another Pre-Raphaelite masterpiece we acquired through Wayfair.. Art Nouveau. Flagstaff. Sat Aug 29 2026
