Moreover, the deep relief and sharply defined details of these Mouldings and Millwork readily convey their beauty and also easily support repeated refinishing as desired. Niches have been used in homes for almost 2000 years, first made of white marble in Nero's home. Most niches are still white, and for many years were mostly made of plaster. Now that many modern architectural products are made of urethane, custom millwork and details such as recessed niches have become affordable for any home improvement project. Niches are distinctive architectural accents. Often used to display sculptures, vases, clocks, plants, and flowers, niches are beautiful and functional details that add value to any home interior. They are often used in main hallways, dining rooms, foyers, and staircases. An important aspect of a niche is its ability to concentrate or disperse light, so its placement should be based on the availability of light, either sunlight or interior lighting fixtures. Ceiling accent lights are often added as a compliment above a niche. Niches made of urethane can be easy to install for anyone, simply cut a hole in the drywall and place the niche inside. These niches will also require little maintenance in the future, and offer beauty and value to your home for decades to come. Ekena Millwork offers niches in varying heights, widths, and depths to fit the scale of your home.

Urethane crown moulding has become an increasingly popular choice for homeowners and builders alike due to its myriad benefits. Unlike wood, which can warp, crack, or rot over time, urethane is highly resistant to moisture and temperature changes. This makes it an ideal choice for areas prone to humidity or extreme weather conditions. Whether it’s installed in a bathroom, kitchen, or basement, urethane crown moulding maintains its shape and integrity, ensuring a long-lasting and reliable finish. Another notable advantage is its lightweight nature. Its lightweight characteristic simplifies handling and installation, making urethane crown moulding a popular choice for DIY projects and professional installations alike. Maintenance is another area where urethane crown moulding excels. Wood moulding requires regular upkeep, including painting, sealing, and potential repairs due to damage from pests or moisture. Urethane, on the other hand, does not attract pests, does not absorb water, and is resistant to cracking and chipping. A simple wipe with a damp cloth is usually sufficient to keep it looking new, making it an attractive option for those who prefer a low-effort maintenance routine.

Crown molding adds a beautiful finish to elegant rooms. To get this look you would simply hire a professional to figure out and install all of the complicated miter cuts. This made the cost of crown molding more expensive as this method can be labor-intensive. Not anymore. Ours molded inside and outside corners make installation a breeze. Say goodbye to miters with our DIY corners and couplers.

These corners are great, large for high ceilings and wide crown moulding. Since they are a soft material, they are easy to trim so you can give them a snug fit on your old house. After painting the design, you can see how beautiful they are, and how they enhance the room. Very good buy and I love the product.. Edward. Galion, OH. Wed Jan 07 2026
