The seat cushion and backing are soft velvet feel and legs sparkle especially in the sunlight. First chair was a lot easier to assemble but the second one wasn’t lining up well so there was a big gap in the back base so not sure how sturdy it will be. Eventually over time and lots of strength and force, I was able to close the gap but it’s definitely not as aligned as the other chair. I absolutely love these velvet mod mid century chairs! I have these for my kitchen room table and the gray is a nice cool gray so it goes well with my navy blue cabinets! The only thing I needed to assemble were the legs on both chairs and those were easy! The seats are large and the backing is comfortable enough. The padding is firm and the chairs feel very soft.
