This model is simple, but stunning! It is a replica of a Boston Tender, a classic rowing boat believed to have originated along the New York waterfront in the early 1800s. Some hold that the Whitehall rowing boat design was introduced from England. However the famed nautical historian Howard I. Chappelle cites the opinion of the late W. P. Stephens that in New York City there is a Whitehall Street and this was where the Whitehall was first built. Chappelle, Stephens and others agree that the design came into existence sometime in the 1820's in New York City, having first been built by navy yard apprentices who had derived their model to some extent from the old naval gig.

The endeavor was hailed as the most beautiful J-Class yacht ever built. She was the best and most impressive sailboat that Britain ever built to race in America's Cup series. Endeavour had speed as well as beauty. Built in 1933 by T.O.M. Sopwith, the undisputed leader of the British aircraft industry, Endeavour possessed many new and innovative devices, including below-deck winches, new sail designs, and an improved spinnaker. Even with an amateur crew, she came closer to winning the Cup than any other challenger up to that time. The endeavor was a faster yacht than her contender Rainbow. She beat Rainbow in the first two races. However, the American team was a much more OK crew and defeated Endeavour all the next three races by out-thinking her captain. In the third race, as a direct result of Vanderbilt, the skipper of ''Rainbow'', failing to pull away, the yachts almost collided when Endeavour had the right of way. Sopwith raised the protest flag after the race in accordance with British rules. The race committee dismissed the protest as the American rules stated the protest flag is to be flown at the time of the foul. This prompted a British writer to comment, ''Britannia rules the waves, but America waives the rules.'' When Endeavour returned to England she continued to dominate the British racing scene until 1938 when she was laid up for the duration of World War II. Saved by Elizabeth Meyer of New Port, RI, today she is one of the most breathtaking sights on the water. To take the helm of such a yacht is to experience pure power, grace, and speed.

A kayak is a small human-powered boat. It typically has a covered deck, and a cockpit covered by a spraydeck. It is propelled by a double-bladed paddle by a sitting paddler. The kayak was used by the native Ainu, Aleut and Eskimo hunters in sub-arctic regions of northeastern Asia, North America and Greenland. Modern kayaks come in a wide variety of designs and materials for specialized purposes. Kayaks are commonly referred to as canoes in Great Britain and Ireland. Kayaks were originally developed by indigenous people living in the Arctic regions, who used the boats to hunt on inland lakes, rivers and the coastal waters of the Arctic Ocean, North Atlantic, Bering Sea and North Pacific oceans. These first kayaks were constructed from stitched animal skins such as seal stretched over a wooden frame made from collected driftwood, as many of the areas of their construction were treeless. Archaeologists have found evidence indicating that kayaks are at least 4000 years old.

The ''wooden runabout boat'' we know today did not exist prior to the early part of this century, and, for the most part, ceased to be built shortly after its heyday of construction during the mid-1950s. Today, only small numbers of all-wood runabouts are built. The runabout is characterized by the all-wood construction of its hull (whether it is painted or stained and then varnished, and whether its deck is all-wood as well, or canvas-covered), and its inboard motor.
The boat was beautifully constructed, brings back memories when dad and used to go boating on the Hudson River. Wayfair, yo are m EBAY for the home.... Alan. Las Vegas, NV. Thu May 19 2016

The San Felipe was one of the most beautiful Spanish ships in the 1600s. Launched in 1690, it had 96 cannons and was the lead ship of the feared Spanish Armada. It was powerful enough to go up against the most formidable ships in the French and British navies. In 1705, the San Felipe and 11 other Spanish ships waged a furious and heroic battle against 35 British ships. After 24 hours of fighting, the San Felipe was captured but was so badly damaged that it could not be salvaged as a prize. It sank with several tons of gold.
This ship is very cool and draws a lot of attention in my “man cave.” It is staged in a case that I also purchased through way fair. Very impressed with my purchase.. Andrew. Roseville, CA. Tue Jul 07 2026

By night they work the nets, and by day they rest and clean, they are there almost every morning that I head offshore. They anchor up just after dawn and begin cleaning their decks and holds of by-catch and trash fish. They are the shrimp boats that spend the night dragging their nets for pink gold. By night they work the nets, and by day they rest and clean.
Wayfair service excellent Product arrived early and in excellent shape Package was extremely strong (wooden crate inside) very well protected The ship is fantastic The reason for the 4 star is that the exterior of the ship is not white like the picture and description. It is pale yellow. Hopefully, we can make it work as is. Will contact customer support so they are aware of this issue. Kim. Myrtle Beach, SC. Fri Oct 20 2023

The three-masted topsail schooner Atlantic was one of twelve vessels that competed for the 1905 Emperor's Cup, a prize put up by Germany's Kaiser Wilhelm for a race between New York and the Lizard (the extreme tip of Cornwall). Atlantic won the cup by achieving a time of twelve days and four hours. In one 24-hour period, she ran 348 nautical miles. She was taken up by the US Navy in both world wars and was eventually acquired by the US Coast Guard Academy. Although the Atlantic was built as a racing craft, she had a stateroom accommodation for seven people. Launched in 1903, she won the Kaisers Cup in a very exciting race by crossing the Atlantic in 12 days, 4 hours, 1 minute, 19 seconds.
Beautiful statement piece to have in your home! We wanted something unique and used it in place of a guest book at our costal-themed wedding. It is now filled with names written on the sails, and is beautiful. I had my father put it together, so I can’t attest to how the set up was. The bow has a piece of wood that the sails are connected to that inserts into the hull. You can see in the photo that it must have popped out at some point, and is leaning up against the hull. This likely happened when it was transported to our venue, but it is easy to pop back into place- just beware that this can happen. It is very well-made and we received countless compliments! Gorgeous, and we will enjoy this in our home for many years to come!. Anonymous. Fri Feb 03 2023

Built in 1898, the regatta cutter Pen Duick was one of the most beautiful sailing boats. She was abandoned after running aground in the muddy flats of the Loire. The legendary sailor, Eric Tabarly, who rescued and lovingly restored her with the other sailor were lost off the southeast coast of Wales on the stormy night of June 14, 1998, the same year that PEN DUICK reached its hundredth birthday.

H.M.S. Victory was the ultimate British fighting vessel: 227 feet long with 104 guns and 850 men when at full capacity. It was launched in 1765 and is most famous as Adm. Horatio Nelson's flagship at the Battle of Trafalgar in 1805. Nelson was shot and killed during the battle. H.M.S. Victory is the oldest naval ship still in commission. It has been restored and rests in dry docks at Portsmouth, England. The ship in Portsmouth is the sixth ship with the name Victory in the Royal Navy. There has been great interest in the fifth Victory ship, which was built 15 years earlier and whose wreckage was found recently by Odyssey Marine Exploration.

The 19th century racing yacht, America, was given its name after the first international sailing trophy that it won - the Americas Cup. This schooner was designed by George Steers for Commodore John Cox Stevens and a syndicate from the Yacht Club of New York. On Aug 22, 1851, the America won by over 20 minutes in the Royal Yacht Squadrons 53 mile regatta around the Isle of Wight, capturing the ''One Hundred Sovereign Cup.'' Spectating at the race, Queen Victoria asked an attendant who was second, and recieved the famous reply: ''There is no second, your Majesty.''

The Mayflower brought the first group of Pilgrims to North America in 1620. As originally conceived, the expedition included another vessel, the Speedwell, but the latter proved unseaworthy. The Mayflower, about 180 gross tons and carrying 102 passengers, finally got underway from Plymouth, England, on September 16, 1620. The ship was headed for Virginia, where the colonists had been authorized to settle. As a result of stormy weather and navigational errors, the vessel failed to make good its course, and on November 21 the Mayflower rounded the end of Cape Cod and dropped anchor off the site of present-day Provincetown, Massachusetts. No one knows exactly what the ship looked like, but it was probably about 27 m (90 ft) long, had three masts and two decks, and probably weighed about 180 tons.

This Omega 46 is one of the most beautiful yachts on the water. Classic looks combined with the most modern technics. Designed by Ron Holland, build by Omega in Sweden. It has beautiful teak decks and cockpit, very spacious cockpit benches, superb lines and the best quality in finish and detail. Equipped options like an electric winch in the cockpit for setting the mainsail, a bowthruster for extra comfort in the harbour and an electric anchorwinch with extra controls at the helm. The magnificent and very spacious interior has 2 large double rooms, one in the frontship, one in the rear. The enormous galley has a fridge and a freezer. The salon is very comfortable with beautiful upholstery. In the front ship is a large wet room with toilet and separate shower compartment.
Generally well made and accurate model. I would rate this five stars but I am a keen sailor and deduct one star because the boom on the boat I received was about an inch too long and fouled the back stay, though this was easily trimmed to the right length, but the mainsail on the boat I received has a very loose leach and that is not easy to correct without recutting the sail.. In its day, there was no yacht like the Bluenose II, a fishing schooner that combined efficiency, beauty and speed. It was built in Nova Scotia in 1921 to fish the rough waters off the coast of Newfoundland. It would stay out on the sea until its holds were full of cod, using salt to preserve its catch. But the Bluenose left its mark in history as a racing ship. For 17 straight years it won the International Fisherman's Trophy, awarded to the winner of races among real fishing schooners that worked the Grand Banks. The races created a heated rivalry between the greatest deep-sea schooners from Newfoundland in Canada and those from Gloucester, Mass. With Capt. Angus Walters at its helm, the Bluenose II prevailed year after a year and it became an enduring symbol of the maritime spirit. The Bluenose II was lost off Haiti in 1946.
The ship looks fantastic in my office. Saying that, some technical assembling was required and minor repairs, which took approximately 6 hours. There was a sense of pride and accomplishment working through the assembly and repairs. I would definitely recommend this model if one has the patience and ability to read directions.. William. H.M.S. Sovereign of the Seas, launched in 1637, was the most powerfully armed ship in the world in its day. It was originally going to have 90 guns, but King Charles I personally insisted that a ''great ship'' be built for the English Royal Navy, so it went to sea with 102 bronze guns. The vessel was the most extravagantly decorated warship in the Royal Navy, completely adorned from stern to bow with gilded carvings. The ship was later renamed Sovereign and then Royal Sovereign. It was destroyed by fire in 1697 in Chatham.
Verdaderamente hermoso recomendado muy buen trabajo. Daniel Octavio. Thornton, CO. Thu Mar 27 2025

This decorative bowl provides a striking centerpiece for your dining table or entryway console. It is crafted from resin and features a hand-painted finish that highlights its unique, textured exterior. The elongated silhouette sits atop a specialized metal stand, raising the piece to create a sense of height and drama on any flat surface. This vessel serves as a distinct focal point whether it is displayed solo or filled with decorative spheres. We also love that the contrasting interior offers a smooth surface to complement the rugged, cast-like appearance of the outer walls.
I received this beautiful Pierpont canoe bowl today and I must admit it’s quite impressive and heavy. I love the texture inside and out and will use it on my kitchen island in my new house. I think I’m going to put some moss balls in it, but not quite sure yet what to put in it. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.. Michelle. Scottsdale Az. Wed Jun 10 2026

The U.S.S. Constitution, a three-mast frigate, is the world's oldest commissioned warship. Built primarily with dense southern live oak, its hull was 21 inches thick in an era when 18 inches was common. Paul Revere forged the copper spikes and bolts that held the planks in place. The 204-foot-long ship was first put to sea in 1798 and its most famous era of naval warfare was the War of 1812 against Britain, when it captured numerous merchant ships and defeated five warships, including the H.M.S. Guerriere. It was during the ferocious battle with the Guerriere that British seamen, astonished at how their cannonballs were bouncing off the Constitution's hull, cried out, ''Sir, Her sides are made from Iron!'' Hence, the nickname, ''Old Ironsides.'' The Constitution today is national landmark and is docked in Boston.
Bought this for my husband one year for Christmas and he was floored! He didn’t expect it and teared up. It’s absolutely exquisite!! The detail is phenomenal and it is so very well made! Absolutely worth every penny.. Marlene. Maggie Valley, NC. Fri Jul 03 2026

This is the REAL version of the Venetian Gondola. Fully functional at 14-feet long and beautifully painted in its original color black with white stripe. We also have a 24 and 36 feet long gondola available, upon request. This boat was completely handcrafted and takes about 600-800 hours to build. We still use the traditional method of construction while integrating the highest quality of materials currently available. Strips of red cedars are joined together by hand and then encapsulated in fiberglass bonded in place with epoxy resin then coated with marine vanish. This combination of fiberglass and epoxy is very strong and the wood will be protected for generations. Important Note: Please be aware that this gondola is a SPECIAL ORDER item which means right after you have placed the order, it will take about 30-60 days for us to build and ship it to you.

The T.S.S. Normandie was one of the finest ocean liners ever produced -arguably the grandest ever. Second in size only to the Queen Elizabeth, running mate of the Queen Mary, the Normandie was created to represent the French nation and all it had to offer to the world.
I am the son of Vladimir Yourkevitch, who is the designer of the hull and it's credited for reducing water friction so the ship could travel at high speed with less power requirements. The model is great, but the indentation in the hull that vtrestrd the friction lessening, the width of the ship and the size and width of the three smokestacks seem incorrect.. George. NY. Our scaled museum replica brings the legendary flagship of the Titanic to life. Incredibly detailed in fully hand-painted wood, it features lifeboats, rope rigging, metal railings, lookouts, and even a metal anchor. Measuring almost a yard long, our collectible requires five days of exacting craftsmanship. With its wooden stand and metal nameplate, it is an amazing gift to anyone mesmerized by the art and legend of nautical vessels.
The Titanic was and is great. That is the only reason in the world why I ever would consider doing more business with wayfair. But that is the only experience that I have with Wayfair that was not a clown show. Show. Carey. Youngstown, FL. Tue Jul 07 2026

The Staten Island Ferry provides 20 million people a year (60,000 passengers a day not including weekend days) with ferry service between St. George on Staten Island and Whitehall Street in lower Manhattan. The ferry is the only non-vehicular mode of transportation between Staten Island and Manhattan. NYC DOT operates and maintains the nine vessel fleet as well as the St. George Ferry Terminal on Staten Island, Whitehall Ferry Terminal in Manhattan, the City Island and Hart Island Facilities, The Battery Maritime Building and all floating dock building equipment. The Staten Island Ferry is run by the City of New York for one pragmatic reason: To transport Staten Islanders to and from Manhattan. Yet, the 5 mile, 25 minute ride also provides a majestic view of New York Harbor and a no-hassle, even romantic, boat ride, for free! One guide book calls it ''One of the world's greatest (and shortest) water voyages.'' From the deck of the ferry you will have a perfect view of The Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island. You'll see the skyscrapers and bridges of Lower Manhattan receding as you pull away and coming into focus again as you return. A typical weekday schedule involves the use of five boats to transport approximately 60,000 passengers daily (109 daily trips). During the day, between rush hours, boats are regularly fueled and maintenance work is performed. Terminals are cleaned around the clock and routine terminal maintenance is performed on the day shift. On weekends, three boats are used (75 trips each Saturday and 68 trips each Sunday). Over 35,000 trips are made annually.
