It came in 2 boxes and one was pretty heavy and big because it contained the base, which is in two pieces, the seat cushion, screws, legs, and throw pillows. The other box was the back of the seat, in 3 pieces. I was able to put it together by myself. Not exactly sure how long it took me to put together but it was under an hour. This lounge was about twice the price of similar items in local furniture stores but I have to say very worth it. I wanted to have a little nook to read and relax and watch movies and this is perfect. There is a lot of support and the fabric is sturdy. I think it will hold up to normal use.
