If minor creases occur during packaging or shipping, simply lay the placemats flat under a heavy book or tray to help restore a smooth appearance.

This item was provided to me for free in order to write this review. Opinions expressed are my own. These are beautiful placemats. Because they are vinyl, they should not soak up any food or stain. However the flower pattern is raised, so food might get stuck in the crevices. But because of the material, it should be fairly easy to get any stuck food out with a brush.. Anonymous. Illinois.
