The product seems to stand the test of time in the AZ heat. Not the easiest to clean because the slots to twist to take it apart are often sticky and somewhat difficult to install and remove. This solar fountain is made of lightweight and durable stone-grey polyresin and fiberglass and features a pineapple topper with two stacked basins. Water flows from the top pineapple into the central basin, which fills and then overflows into the largest bottom pool before circulating. This fountain operates via solar power or the battery. In bright sunlight, the panel powers the pump while the battery pack collects and stores a charge. When cloudy or nighttime, the battery pack will activate and power the unit; when fully charged, it can do so for as many as 4 hours. What a great idea and perfect way to decorate your outdoor living space incorporating the tranquil sounds of running water. Assembly of the fountain is required prior to use. Each piece of the fountain locks into the other for a sturdy construction when assembled. The center of the fountain also has a path for keeping cords hidden away. Water evaporates over time so please remember to occassionally check the water level in the fountain. Allowing the pump to operate without enough water will result in the pump to stop working. Beautifully finished in a terra cotta with four tiers, the fountain is a stylish addition to any landscape design.
