The bed frame and quality of the product is solid. Two things I would change is the width of the step ladder. It narrow and makes it difficult for a person to utilize it. I was concerned about wobbling and squeaking, but it was sturdier than I expected. I tested the top bunk myself (I weigh about 180 lbs). It also looks nice. My 14 and 11-year-old girls love it. I did use my own right-sized rubber washers for non-critical bolt connections. I also used Bunkie Boards on the slats to spread the weight, minimize further squeaking/sounds and protect the mattresses. They can't wait to decorate it with different stuff. No regrets so far.. My 10 year old has the top bunk and my 2 year old has the bottom.. while it is a beautiful bed, I will say that when my 10 year old at 110 pounds moves around you can definitely feel movement and wobbling from below, but there is a steel bar that runs underneath the top bunk that reassures me that it is secure. It took us a about 3 hours to build, just make sure that the headboard and footboard are in the right facing position bc we had to redo ours. I also will note that the headboard and footboard slats dont fit in snuggly and are wobbly. Pine wood is a softer wood and I am already aware of some dings and dents but am still happy that this is not an MDF product so should hope last still for some years.
