Beautiful, but it was incredibly difficult to assemble. I know a lot of people said it was easy, but as a young woman, I just didn't have the strength in my thumbs to insert all the tiny plastic pieces without it being excruciatingly painful in the end. I'm not saying that to scare you - just know what if you don't have strong hands, it can hurt. I was in tears in the end. I'd recommend getting someone to help you. Additionally, the long metal bar that's wedged into the headboard was not fitting and I had no idea why. I finally had to use a mallet to pound it into place. It's probably the hardest thing I've personally ever assembled due to the pain-factor. Once the bed was done, it was very solid and high-quality. It works perfectly fine as a twin-size day bed. If you're making it a king size, I'd recommend getting a twin-to-king mattress converter. That eliminates the painful gap in the middle. For extra comfort you can add a king-size mattress topper, but I didn't do that due to lack of storage space (if I had the space I wouldn't need the trundle bed). This bed is cute. It does everything that we need to do. It was simple to put together. It’s got a simple look to it. My only concern is that it advertises an 8 inch mattress. It is definitely not able to fit an 8 inch mattress. We ended up buying 6 inch mattresses and my husband had to build extended legs for it to come off the ground enough to be able to slide the bottom in and out even still I’m not able to slide the bottom in and out. I have to wait for my husband to do it for me. I would recommend going with a five or a 4 inch mattress unless you don’t mind possibly not being able to slide out the bottom. Bed is great. My husband put it together, and he had a few challenges, nothing he couldn’t handle though. Overall, the bed is awesome. The only thing we did have to do was buy bed risers for the main frame because the mattress we have for the trundle was too thick, and it didn’t slide under the bed at all; but with the bed risers, the bed fits under perfectly now, and our boys love it..
