This bed is great for the price! Bought two twin beds for our young grandchildren. The wood looks really nice and assembly was easy with clear instructions. It took a couple of hours to assemble. A few of the holes where the screws went in was not complely drilled out so had to press hard to get the screw in. I used an impact drill for all the screws to go into the slats. Only concern are the slats where the mattress sits on. It is made of soft wood and easy to bend. Ok, giving this 4.5 stars for aesthetic and solid wood frame. HOWEVER, please be cautioned There were some dings and splintering that are fortunately hidden after assembly with one acception. The assembly itself self took 2.5 hrs with a couple sanity breaks. Each spindled piece has an item sticker that would be visible and thus needed removal. I ruined my nails and spent 10x as long removing stickers and the glue as I did putting the head and footboard together. After FINALLY getting this bed put together, I almost cried contemplating the labor intensive deconstruction that would be required to take it out of the room. This project is not for the faint of heart. It is, indeed, a project. I would not deduct stars as paying for assembly is an option. Also, an oversight on my part, but the bedframe will not house a mattress and box spring, only a mattress. My biggest frustration was the assembly, and second the blemishes on the frame. I bought this wood platform bed for my 3 year old grandson (to go with the mattress I also bought from Wayfair). It took me 2 hours to put the bed frame together by myself and I'm a hands on type of gal. The box in came in was severely damaged but only minimal scratches were on the frame. There are different shades of stain on the frame. All of the mattress support slats needed to be sanded, which I discovered after getting a splinter, several of them had cracks in them and one is warped. There are no drill holes in the frame and no instructions on how far apart to place the slats but because the slats have drill holes the screws easily go into the frame using a power drill. I ended up attaching the first slat at the edge where the slats rest and starting from each end attached the slats 5 1/2" apart. The center two slats are about 5" apart. The final issue is that the sticker is not a peal off so I need to find something to get it off the head board. Other than that it is a sturdy bed frame and my grandson loves it.. Michelle. Nevada. The only reason I dinged the product one star is that there are exposed screws that would be so much nicer if they were colored to match the wood or come with plugs/covers.
