This is a great bed. It was time-consuming to assemble but not hard or confusing. I love the stairs as opposed to a ladder because it’s much safer, and it also has the additional storage underneath the stairs. The desk is a good size and there are many outlets available for all different cords. The LED lights are really fun and they’re bright, but they do not stick very well, and I had to use almost all of the Velcro straps in order to secure the lights all around the bed. As a mom of boys, I’ve purchased and assembled several bunk beds over the years to know that these are my favorites to date. I was able to put the bunks together in an hour by myself without any issues. The bunk is sturdy, and I have no concerns about stability or the bed slats coming out, as they snap into place. The attached ladder doesn't take up floor space or block access to the bottom bunk. The height of the bottom bunk not only prevents anyone from bumping their head but also gives my boys a lounge space to read or watch TV. My only complaints are that I wish the upper side rails were higher since current mattresses are not thin, so our mattress sits flush with the rail. We use a pool noodle under the sheet along the rail for extra peace of mind. If your mattress is on the thinner side, you won’t have any issues. The second is that I wish the clearance underneath was just an inch or two taller, as it wouldn’t impact the bottom bunk and would allow larger totes to be stored under the bed. Overall my son loves it and this is what he’s been wanting for a couple months now. There were a little bit of confusion on the beginning steps only because you have to really pay attention to the whole positions. After you get past that part, it’s really easy. I put this together by myself, but one person or two would be better because sometimes you need help lifting something. This bed took me a long time to assemble because it has so. many. parts. The instructions are fairly straightforward except for the step where you have to figure out on which side you want ladder. Its unclear if the diagram is showing you a right or left setup and the call-out telling you how to position one of the legs to make it right or left is confusing. Otherwise its good quality and *seems* sturdy. I like that the ladder rungs have some ridges on them so your feet wont slide, and that the sides are tall enough for a 8 inch mattress.
