As a mom of boys, I’ve purchased and assembled several bunk beds over the years to know that these are my favorites to date. I was able to put the bunks together in an hour by myself without any issues. The bunk is sturdy, and I have no concerns about stability or the bed slats coming out, as they snap into place. The attached ladder doesn't take up floor space or block access to the bottom bunk. The height of the bottom bunk not only prevents anyone from bumping their head but also gives my boys a lounge space to read or watch TV. My only complaints are that I wish the upper side rails were higher since current mattresses are not thin, so our mattress sits flush with the rail. We use a pool noodle under the sheet along the rail for extra peace of mind. If your mattress is on the thinner side, you won’t have any issues. The second is that I wish the clearance underneath was just an inch or two taller, as it wouldn’t impact the bottom bunk and would allow larger totes to be stored under the bed. This bed took me a long time to assemble because it has so. many. parts. The instructions are fairly straightforward except for the step where you have to figure out on which side you want ladder. Its unclear if the diagram is showing you a right or left setup and the call-out telling you how to position one of the legs to make it right or left is confusing. Otherwise its good quality and *seems* sturdy. I like that the ladder rungs have some ridges on them so your feet wont slide, and that the sides are tall enough for a 8 inch mattress. This is exactly what we were looking for and it arrived promptly. The box itself was damaged at both ends and that made it unwieldy to move it safely (it is very heavy!) but that was clearly weight to great for the construction of the packaging. They probably get damage claims because the box is insufficient protection for the weight of the metal. Moving on to assembly, it was straightforward to assemble following the instructions provided, and the lighting is a super bonus for us, but the product loses a star because Two of the long bolts and one of the short support pieces was missing from the box and so we cannot install those important supports. Not sure if we will move forward with use of the product without them, but as far as assembly and aesthetics, it is really good. Although we received it as part of a promotion, for the price currently advertised, we believe it is a good value (providing all the pieces are included and you can ensure the stability and safety in use.). This is a great bed. It was time-consuming to assemble but not hard or confusing. I love the stairs as opposed to a ladder because it’s much safer, and it also has the additional storage underneath the stairs. The desk is a good size and there are many outlets available for all different cords. The LED lights are really fun and they’re bright, but they do not stick very well, and I had to use almost all of the Velcro straps in order to secure the lights all around the bed.
