This TV console seems sturdy, has good storage, and is the perfect size. Yes, it is a laminate over particle board, but the finish looks nice. I think it’s a good value for the price. It does take a little while to assemble, but it wasn’t bad. My advice to anyone else is to make sure you put a level on it and use your leg adjusters to get it perfectly level before you put the back on to make sure you build it square. That may be why I saw some reviewers saying they couldn’t get the doors quite right. I will say the handles that came with the unit were not a good color. They were practically orange, not champagne bronze-ish like I thought from the photos on the website. Pay for the professional assembly!! Mostly all of the holes needed to be carved bigger in order to fit the pieces properly. It took us over 3 hours to build this and parts of the stand cracked and broke in the process. The entire TV stand left me with a lot to be desired. The colour is completely off from the advertisement, the fit and finish is terrible. The left side of the tv stand, as pictured, was completely bowed. I had to tighten the side as much as possible without breaking the soft low quality wood that was used. The finish on the wood is entirely inconsistent and will scratch very easily. Overall, I am quite disappointed with the product especially for 300. I’m not sure I trust this to even hold my TV. This is exactly what we were looking for. I was looking for a cabinet that was a bit taller and with some storage space. The doors have slats so you can see some of whats stored there. If that would bother you then this isnt for you. However i imagine you could use a remote without opening the doors. I was able to fit dvds, games ans a dvd player in there.
