First of all I love it! I could not believe though that the shelves were not made of clear glass so the lights illuminate both the top and bottom. So I bought two 11X14 picture frames, cheap at the dollar store, and used just the glass and the frame as shelves. They fit perfectly. I then used one of the wood shelves as a base for my subwoofer. This media console is just the perfect addition to my living room. I chose the whitebrown so it goes with everything including the kitchen table that I got in the same colors. I had somebody put it together for me and it took him about an hour and a half. Even though the fire is artificial, it casts a nice warming, comforting glow and has sounds to go with it.
