Great choice! My only mistake was thinking a full size mattress was not much different in size than a queen. Fairly easy to put together but I did hire Wayfair install team to do it. Beautiful, but it was incredibly difficult to assemble. I know a lot of people said it was easy, but as a young woman, I just didn't have the strength in my thumbs to insert all the tiny plastic pieces without it being excruciatingly painful in the end. I'm not saying that to scare you - just know what if you don't have strong hands, it can hurt. I was in tears in the end. I'd recommend getting someone to help you. Additionally, the long metal bar that's wedged into the headboard was not fitting and I had no idea why. I finally had to use a mallet to pound it into place. It's probably the hardest thing I've personally ever assembled due to the pain-factor. Once the bed was done, it was very solid and high-quality. It works perfectly fine as a twin-size day bed. If you're making it a king size, I'd recommend getting a twin-to-king mattress converter. That eliminates the painful gap in the middle. For extra comfort you can add a king-size mattress topper, but I didn't do that due to lack of storage space (if I had the space I wouldn't need the trundle bed). This is a beautiful bed. The material is a very soft velvet and the entire bed is covered. The headboard has a piece of wood that attaches to each side which adds a nice detail. Bed is super sturdy and assembly was very basic. You do not need a box spring. I have a mattress set which makes the bed taller than the footboard. This bed is definitely a statement piece.
