For over a century, Indonesia has been one of the foremost sources of teak in the world. This beautiful golden-toned wood has been prized by modernist designers and traditional wood craftsmen for its resistance to cracking or warping. As foresters log off the mature stands, they leave behind stumps and roots that would typically be burned out of the soil. Enterprising Indonesians realized that the wood in these stumps had the same basic qualities as the trunk wood prized throughout the world, but with irregularities that seemed to express the living spirit of the wood. For generations now, these village craftsmen have extracted the roots and worked them into beautiful household products with a unique, organic nature that animates their creations.

It’s okay, all cuttings are different just wish I had more surface coverage for a coffee table. But it’s natural and gorgeous. The screws given were low quality and I acutally ended up leaving a screw in because it got stripped quickly and there wasn’t anything I could do to get it out so I broke the top off. Two of the screws I put in got stripped quickly as I was fighting for my life to get them inserted. The holes that are pre-drilled weren’t done well and I had to drill more myself so the screws wouldn’t strip more considering the quality of them. All of our Furniture is crafted using northern white cedar. We harvest our cedar locally from its Minnesota location. We even operate our own cedar saw mill that produces the lumber for our furniture! Northern white cedar is extremely light and quite soft, but boasts excellent decay resistance and strength despite these characteristics. For heavily used surfaces, we also offer an optional Armor or Liquid Glass finish to increase its lifespan! Armor finish provides a medium satin sheen, our premium quality, post-catalyzed, alkyd-amino varnish is formulated to offer superior durability, and UV protection. It helps prevent scratching and denting. Liquid Glass finish provides a high gloss sheen, this upgrade finish is made from a two-part epoxy. Equivalent to 50 coats of polyurethane, the finish is tough, yet flexible and not prone to shattering from impact.

Looks good, but just not good for a living room. Perhaps a recreation room. Trees have flaws and this has some on the top and on the side.
