You won’t be able to push in the gold pieces with your fingers and the holes will seem too small, but the pieces will fit - you have to use a mallet. Tilt the piece and use your mallet to gently tap in one edge of the piece so that it lodges crookedly in the hole. Awesome that it comes pre-made already, so once you pull it out of the box, it’s ready to be used. Super easy to latchunlatch and extendcompress the bench. Both my partner and I sat on the bench while it was fully extended and it was very study. Although it was packaged pretty well, my item still came damaged on the bottom.
