This is a beautiful piece. It did take two people to put together, but it was pretty straightforward. The space on top provides us with extra room to display items, and the drawers are perfect for storing trash bags, etc. The only reason for the four stars versus five is that we purchased this item to use in our kitchen as a trash can, as described, and it came with cloth -like storage baskets. Only drawback is the towel hanger was damaged today because someone bumped into it and one side came completely off. So I had to use longer screws to put it back on. Ordered and came very quickly. Went together fairly easily, be careful when your using the screws i got the sizes mixed up and had to redo. Pay attention. The island is very sturdy and I love the fact that you csm roll it around where you want it. It is also very nice to have your trash can hidden. Quality of the product is good although the counter top has gotten scratched. The one think I was disappointed with, is the information on the item not disclosing that it requires power for the ionizer. I scoured the product page extensively because I was concerned about that. The cabinet is nice, not super duty but def stable when for my home. The tilt out trash can we love. I wish the cupboard side had shelves, that would’ve been nice. As it is there’s a huge area of wasted sauce that shelves would’ve helped to make useful. Also it’s not white, it’s cream with faux wood paint, so just plan accordingly. But they wanted to give a 15 discount if I kept it. . Not acceptable. They’re sending an entire new one, but I have the inconvenience of sending the old one back, not even sure how to box it back up!! This piece definitely took more time and problem-solving to build than expected, a little over three hours total. The finished product looks really nice, and the color is beautiful. The assembly process was a bit more involved than I anticipated and required some patience and careful attention to detail. A few areas needed some adjusting during setup, particularly around the cabinet doors, to get everything aligned and opening smoothly. Once everything was properly positioned though, the final result looked great and felt sturdy. One thing to keep in mind is that this is not a quick or beginner-level assembly, so taking your time during the build will definitely help. We didn’t have the electric screwdriver - that would’ve made it easier but we would’ve had to be careful not to break the wood - it says that on the directions. This was very well built! The instructions to build it were clear (although I took my time over a few days to build it as it did come in very many pieces) and I honestly enjoyed the process. The color is a beautiful blue-ish/green-ish grey (it may be my kitchen's lighting, but i would say the color leans slightly more to the green side of the scale vs the blue side, but I really like this) and it pairs beautifully with my Ruggable rainbow rug which it sits on. I had a somewhat large bill of items I needed this piece to have, including lockable caster wheels, a trash compartment and multiple drawers and hidden shelves. It had to bonus of some open shelves as well, and I love the design pop of texture on the front-center drawer. I'm also totally happy with the hardware, though I love that I can add my own customization by switching out the hardware later. It's also cool that it has the outlet for optional install, though it's not relevant for my purposes. Our new apartment gave us the challenge of having few cabinets (and half of those there are are weirdly shaped and hard to access the full space of), so this island had to preform a lot of tasks. This kitchen island from the drop top to the trashcan is wonderful to have in the kitchen. It has given me extras space to work on and I love all my pantry stuff right at my fingertips. It came well packed. It did take the whole afternoon to put it together. The only issue was the hole for the dowels didnt line up most of the time. They were off just enough for some frustration. They also put a middle wheel for stability but you cant reach it to lock it ot unlock it. I do recommend this island, I love the prep space and everything at your fingertips.. Tammy. Midland, MI.
