This piece reminds me of the glass in homes when I was growing up from the 70s and 80s. It is a very thick solid piece and quite heavy. It is larger and bulkier than I thought it would be. This is a beautiful and heavy glass vase. I'm not sure I would use the top for a dry display, because it is a little crooked in it's fitting. But, I wanted it for a vase and it will be perfect!
