These are solid, heavy lamps. The base is wide enough to support the shade---no chance of them tipping over (I was worried about that!). LOVELY design. My only complaint is that I was under the impression (and this is one of the reasons I purchased these lamps), that they were made in USA...only to find a "made in China" sticker on the bottom of the lamp :( :(. I love the look of this light, perfect for the kitchen which is closer to the garden. Beautiful when lit and gorgeous when it’s not.
