I gave this bowl 4 stars only because the color description is misleading. It says “brown”, but it actually looks like a rustic brown/gray./green. It’s ok and goes in my house but others might be expecting something different. It also is very rough - like unfired clay, but the look works for me. The size works, but it feels slightly limiting when I want to pack a heartier serving. Even so, they have a solid, sturdy feel and they clean up easily, which I appreciate on busy evenings when I am trying to get everything ready for the next day. The ceramic bowls themselves wash beautifully, but the plastic lids behave like most plastic lids do and tend to stain when used with tomato‑based soups or sauces. Because of that, I have been avoiding tomato dishes when packing lunches. Where these crocks truly shine is breakfast prep. They are the perfect size for yogurt parfaits layered with fruit and berries, and I love that the set includes four. It allows me to prepare several breakfasts at once and keep them ready in the refrigerator for the week.
