Threshold Mckenney Natural Area Rug

This modern area rug anchors your furniture in a neutral, contemporary design. An ivory hue brings a brightening effect to your floors, while a subtle, organic striped design adds a textured element. Handmade from Indian wool, this rug features a low 0.35' pile height that brings an understated warmth to your high-traffic floors, without tripping up your vacuum or your feet. Although it comes with a cotton and latex backing, we recommend adding a rug pad underneath for an extra layer of padding.

This rug is gorgeous! It’s incredibly soft underfoot, and I love that it’s a natural fiber blend since I try to avoid microplastics. One thing to note—the photos online make it look whiter than it is. In person, it’s a beautiful warm cream with a subtle texture that adds interest without being busy. I ordered the 8x10 for a 14x14 dining room, and the scale is perfect—it anchors the table nicely without overwhelming the space. I’ve included photos of it in both natural and evening light for reference. It’s plush enough that we don’t feel the need for a rug pad, which was a nice surprise. So far, it feels great to walk on and works really well in a dining space.. Ann. Champaign, IL. Sun Apr 19 2026

Early days, but the materials are soft and great to walk on. lays flat (which seem like an odd comment but I've ordered rugs online before and they were so cheap they never played completely flat). Heavy enough that it probably won't blow away and functions without underlay. That said, underlay if probably a good idea if the surface its placed on is smooth. Overall good product. Would buy again at the right price.. Mark. Vancouver, BC. Mon Aug 17 2026

Absolutely love! It add so much texture to my room, not just another plain rug. However, it has no padding to it so if you are looking for squishy under feet, buy a rug pad. Also, if you want a soft feeling rug, then I would not get this one. The material and texture is semi rough and would not be comfortable to sit on. I absolutely love it for our use though!. Natalie.
