The edges of the each sofa modules include pre‑drilled holes with metal fixtures that lock the sections together securely and prevent separation. This is a useful design choice however, applying the same connection system to the ottomans would have made alternative sectional layouts much more stable and practical. Works perfect for our space. One downside is that the backrest pillows are not comfortable at all. If you buy extra pillows to put in front of them, the couch is comfy.
