It has just enough give in the padding on the very top so that you know you're not laying on " a board". Much firmer, which at first I was not sure about, it provides a great, comfortable support for my stomach and side sleeping. Rolling around won’t wake your partner because the motion doesn’t carry. The edges are comfortable with just the right amount of additional firmness to keep you from rolling off. One of my favorite features is that the top material helps to keep me sleeping cool. It is thick, but fits my sheets with no problems. I also did not have any issues at all with off gassing smells coming from the new mattress. It is just fresh and nice. So far, I’m in love! Just unboxed and letting take more shape for the day before we sleep on it tonight but, wow! Our last mattress was a Puffy, all foam, and plush. It was wayyyy too soft for us and was killing our backs. So I took a chance on this after reading the reviews and getting in for the sale. Best decision ever! I’m not exaggerating. It’s not even fully formed yet but I know it’s going to be a massive improvement and just what we needed for better back support. I loved that I received the item within 24 hours. Unfortunately, upon receipt of the item, the bottom of the box was opened. Also the mattress is not cut true to size.
