I foster cats for our local Humane Society. A lot of times the kittens are in need of special care and a heating pad is needed. The heating pad is a good size for this because it’s big enough to cover almost the whole bottom of one of their kennels. This keeps the kittens on the heat where they can’t get off for the most part. The cord looks like it will work well since they have some wiring around it. I bought this pad for my older female cat who likes to sleep on my desk chair when it's rolled all the way under the desk. It gives her a tight place to get away from her younger brother. I've had a "self-heating" pad there, but I'll throw a thin fleece over this electric pad and it'll be really cozy. :) It's well made and a perfect size for a large cat. It should work well there, but I'm pulling one star because I'm not a fan of the adjustable temp. I have two other pet heating pads that I plug in each fall and unplug each spring. You have to place your hand on them and keep it there for a few seconds to feel the heat. That's the perfect safe temp for a cat. This pad on high is WAY too hot for a cat to lay on for extended periods. The lowest setting is still warmer than I'd like, but it should be OK.
